Karitane Linking Families (KLF) is funded by Family and Community Services (Families NSW) and donor support. KLF manages four community programs in the Liverpool, Fairfield and Bankstown areas.
Become a Volunteer Helping Families offers you the opportunity to become a volunteer, helping families deal with the challenges of parenthood. Training and support is available from through Linking Families.
Volunteer Family Connect offers support to families with children 0-5 living in the Liverpool, Bankstown and Fairfield areas. The program trains volunteers and then matches them with families in the community. The role of these volunteers is to provide support to the families who may be isolated and have minimal English skills.
Young Parent Family Worker offers sustained home visiting to young clients 25 years and under. The program’s workers are able to visit young parents antenatally and postnatally to provide support and referral to appropriate programs.
Early Intervention Placement Prevention offers short term case management to clients with low risk vulnerabilities who need assistance and referral to address parenting issues. Some vulnerability includes clients from other cultural and language backgrounds, refugee families and families with limited or no family support.
Supported Playgroups Plus offers supported playgroups for vulnerable families for a period of 12-18 months to support, inform and build capacity to integrate into community playgroups. This transition ensures all families are able to access supported playgroups when needed.

“Thanks so much for the training. I feel myself lucky to be able to be a part of Karitane. It was made more interesting because you delivered it in a lovely way with a smiling face all the time. It was also great to meet so many people from different backgrounds & having their perspective”…. Ananya, new volunteer.
