It's time to THRIVE

Juggling a career and parenthood is an ongoing challenge for parents within the workforce. Karitane CEO, Grainne O’Loughlin states “Progressing a career while raising a family is challenging – even with the support of family, partners and friends. Thankfully, employers are steadily recognising the need to implement strategies to retain their talented working parents. Karitane are trusted leaders in helping to support organisations to support their parents?.

Westpac on Monday launched the second cohort of participants for the ‘Parents At Work Thrive: Executive Coaching & Development’ program. This 6 month executive coaching service is provided by Parents At Work to parents and/or carers who are transitioning back to work or juggling children in their early childhood years with a thriving career and family life. Karitane partners with Parents at Work delivering evidence-based education and practical strategies for every day parenting to support the balance of parenting and career.

Grainne O’Loughlin joined Parents at Work and David Gatt - Chair of FLEX EAG & Head of SGB Home Ownership Services, Group Operation, Property & Procurement and Kate Holloway - Head of Marketing and Brand Westpac, and former Thrive Program Participant – to discuss the balance of work and parenting. They shared their insights surrounding the future of work strategy around flexibility, advice for working parents and carers when it comes to balancing work and family responsibilities and their own personal experiences of juggling it all.

Hearing the overwhelming responses has highlighted the need and importance of our Karitane Business Support Packages, Supporting Parents Benefiting Business. We work with organisations to complement their wellbeing, inclusion and diversity policies providing practical and professional advice, education and support to employees and managers navigating the challenge of balancing parenting with a career.   For more information on how your organisation can take the next step to support parents at work click here:
