Overview
This group is for new graduates to Child & Family Health, Midwifery, Paediatrics & Mental Health. This course is designed to meet the learning needs of new graduates to child and family health practice, midwifery, paediatric care or mental health services. The context for this training will focus on the new practitioner in these three clinical contexts, understanding that there is limited clinical practice experience. Participants will need to actively observe and write reflections of interactions between infants/children and their
parents, prior to joining this training.
The Family Partnership Model – is an evidence based, advanced communication course facilitating genuine and effective engagement with families. This model provides a framework for developing a consistent approach to working with families, identifying strengths and empowering families to facilitate change. This internationally recognised course is interactive, utilising explorative discussion and delivered within a shared, experiential learning environment over 5 days. Participants are actively encouraged to bring clinical and personal reflections
about their observations and clinical experiences as well undertake the home tasks of recommended reading and short practice strategies.
