How we can support you

Every baby and every family is different. Our clinicians work alongside you, listening to your concerns and supporting you with guidance that suits your child and your family. We commonly support families with:

  • Painful breastfeeding, sore or cracked nipples
  • Latch, positioning and attachment concerns
  • Low milk supply, oversupply or fast let-down
  • Engorgement, blocked ducts and mastitis
  • Feeding routines and understanding your baby’s feeding cues
  • Frequent feeding, unsettled feeding or concerns about whether baby is getting enough milk
  • Expressing and pumping, including getting started or maintaining supply
  • Mixed feeding (breast and bottle)
  • Weaning and breastfeeding beyond infancy
  • Feeding support from birth through to 4 years of age

If you’re unsure whether your concern is “normal” or something to seek help with, booking a consultation can provide reassurance and clear next steps.

What to prepare for your appointment

To make the most of your consultation, it can help to have:

  • Your baby nearby, if possible
  • Any bottles, pumps or feeding aids you’re using
  • A list of questions or concerns you’d like to discuss
  • Your feeding goals
  • Recent feeding patterns or weight information, if available

Learn, understand and feel more confident

Many parents search for online breastfeeding classes because they want clear, trustworthy information they can apply in real life.

In your virtual consultation, our clinicians can help you understand:

  • How breastfeeding works and what to expect at different stages
  • What a comfortable, effective latch can look like
  • Signs your baby is feeding well
  • How to reduce the risk of common breastfeeding problems
  • When to seek further support and what options are available

Rather than generic advice, you’ll receive guidance tailored to you and your baby.

Tamima – Carramar, NSW

“I can’t thank Karitane enough for the support I received through the Virtual Breastfeeding Clinic when my baby was 1.5 months old, during a really challenging time as a first-time mum. With practical guidance and reassurance, I was able to reach my goal of exclusively breastfeeding, and my baby is now almost nine months old and thriving.”
