Young Parents Program Karitane

Young Parents Program

Join other young parents in a supportive and relaxed space while working toward a free Certificate III in Community Services with TAFE NSW. Karitane provides free training, childcare, and lunch, plus connections to helpful services. This free service is for parents aged 24 years and under based in Campbelltown NSW.

Our Services

This program is designed to help young parents get back into education, gain formal qualifications, and build skills for long-term career opportunities. It’s a three-part program focused on early support to set you up for success in the career path you choose. On completion of this course, you’ll receive guidance for further study opportunities and the chance to share your story with school students!

Education

As a young parent in the program, you’ll complete a six-month training that gives you credit for 8 units toward a Certificate III in Community Services from TAFE NSW. After finishing, you’ll get support to continue your studies, with full accreditation for the units completed within this program.

Support

As part of the program, young parents meet with a case manager every 4-8 weeks to get personalised support. These sessions help you reach your goals, connect with services that meet your needs, and provide career guidance. You’ll also have the chance to connect with other young parents through ongoing education sessions and special activities.

Outreach

In the third part of the program, you’ll get the chance to share your story with high school students around Sydney. This interactive presentation lets you talk about the challenges and big lifestyle changes that come with being a young parent, giving students a real look at the responsibilities involved.
