Valsa is Professor and Chair of Infant, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and head of the Academic Unit of Child Psychiatry (AUCS), South Western Sydney Local Health District.  She is a Program Director for Autism Co-operative Research Centre, Stream Leader for the ‘Early Life Determinants of Health (ELDoH)’ Clinical Academic Group within the Sydney Partnerships for Health Education Research and Enterprise (SPHERE) and Director of BestSTART – SW Academic unit for child health research.
